Election 2008

Last night we were all glued to the TV and the computer. My kids although only 6, and 9 and yes even 4 yr old Isaac were really into it. We watched as the numbers climbed for Obama. Drew said "Oh No! If Obama wins we will have to go to school on Saturdays and stay at school all day until 6 o' clock!" "We will have to pay more taxes and give all our money to the poor" Elle said! How do they learn these things?? They had a mock election at their school and the actual Voting Poll was held at their school, so they were really into it. Plus, Elle has been reading the constitution! (I know!)We brought it back for her from D.C. and she has been asking us a million questions.
After the speeches of McCain and Obama, we sat there contemplating the future. This morning we had to give our kids a talk to bolster their morale, interesting --they seemed scared about what this all means before we talked. We told them to pray, be good examples, and be prepared.
Although, I was inspired after hearing Obamas speech-- he is very charismatic. I think he gave people a lot of hope and that is a good thing. We all need to hope and pray for our future. We know tough times are coming and we just need to be prepared. History was made last night and it was neat and at the same time scary to witness it.
OH and btw our kids were on the RR show and they were cute, they (Elle and Isaac) acted embarrassed really well! :) There was 1 shot of Drew playing ball with them. We love our friends the Kerby's and our kids do too! If we could all be as fun and funny as them!
