Here is some of the gang in the suite. We went to Newport Beach CA
we had to stop at one park, so the vote was on
Lego Land
We had so much fun this past week with the kids! The place (The Marriot Resort Villas at Newport Beach -highly recommend) was beautiful, the weather was Fabulous!!! and the company was great! Our friends came, the Moore's, they had 4 kids the same age and gender as ours. It was so nice to relax and play in the sun!
The resort had giant outdoor chess and checkers, ping pong, miniature golf, sand pits, basketball courts, play gyms, huge fire pits, bunnies, Kids "amazing" craft/game room and shuffle board. (I'm telling you- you have to go to this place when you go to do Disneyland or anything southern Cal!) Drew schooled Rob in checkers, smart boy! Elle and Drew made model race cars with me! I actually built them- engine, on-off switch and all! I think the kids favorite though was the kids jacuzzi.
My dream is to run along the beach at the Balboa Peninsula, someday without kids, instead we walked 4 miles along it and back. Bike riders of all kinds, runners, rollerbladers, then us 12! 4 Parents and 8 kids, 4 strollers, 1 kids backpack! Then when people asked if the kids were all ours and we said yes they would ask, "Where are you from??" Utah, "ohhhhhhhhhhh." :) There were such cute beach houses along the trail too, we looked at renting one and it was $3,000 a week. There was even an elementary school right there on the beach with a plot of grass in the middle of the sand! At the end of the walk way was a Ferris wheel and merry-go-round by the ferrie boats.
The most memorable of the trip will be for me- the Rosemary Chicken! Yum! There was rosemary growing all over the resort walk ways, and lavender, so we picked a bunch and Lisle grilled up some yummy chicken. Also the trip to Trader Joe's! Love it!!! Rob's fav had to be the GPS getting lost about 4 times no biggy! :) The drive along Laguna Beach in the OC was pretty. Elle and Elica played the adults in Apples to Apples, Isaac and Kason built 340 forts everywhere and told secrets the whole time! We saw a million dead ladybugs on the beach?? anyone know why??? they looked like popcorn kernels. We collected shells, Isaac got some rocks??, and we stuck my shoe in a jelly fish on the beach. Then we ended everyday with a family shower :) in the huge shower in our room with double shower heads, the kids kept asking why there are two??? OHhhh Too much fun. :)
